Incheon Airport to Insadong, in short ·
In shortFrom Incheon, the easy way is the airport limousine bus 6002 (Jongno 2-ga or 3-ga) or 6011 (Changdeokgung, for the ibis): no transfer, ₩17,000, about 70–90 minutes, and the stop is a 5–8 minute walk from the hotels. The fast way is AREX Express to Seoul Station and Line 1 three stops to Jongno 3-ga. The cheap way is the all-stop train and the same subway ride. Trains and buses stop around 23:00–23:40; after that take the N6002 night bus, and use N6701 only if N6002 has no seats. From Gimpo, Line 5 runs straight to Jongno 3-ga, whose Line 5 Exits 4 and 5 come up next to the hotels.

Before you leave Incheon Airport
A few small things to settle before you leave the airport.
- Note your terminal. Incheon has two, and the bus stops differ; the AREX railroad serves both.
- Count the time. Allow about an hour from landing to the arrivals hall, longer at peak times.
- Get online. A SIM or eSIM, plus Naver Map or Kakao Map for the final walk.
- Take a little cash. An ATM in arrivals gives you won for a T-money top-up or a taxi.

How to read it. The shaded circle is the five hotels in Insadong and Ikseon-dong, around Jongno 3-ga Station. Incheon Airport lies about 50 km off the left edge; every Incheon route enters from there. Every station on the rail routes is marked, and the small squares are bus stops. 6002 and N6002 come in along the Gangbyeon Expressway and run through Hongdae, Sinchon and Gwanghwamun to Jongno 3-ga; 6011 comes through Mapo-gu Office, Yonsei and Gyeongbokgung to Anguk and Changdeokgung. N6701 ends at Dongdaemun Design Plaza; get off at Euljiro 1-ga. The taxi line follows Mapo-daero, drawn as a corridor rather than the exact road. Dashed lines are district boundaries. Not for navigation.

Times and fares are for 2026 and move: check the operator’s site or app on the day. After about 23:30 only a taxi, a private vehicle or the night bus below will do.
How to take each route, step by step
A · Airport bus 6002 or 6011
- Walk outside to the limousine stops. Follow “Limousine Bus” signs from arrivals. Route 6011 boards at stop 5B on the first floor at Terminal 1 and at stop 31 on level B1 at Terminal 2. Check the route number on the stop’s display for 6002.
- Buy a ticket at the ticket office. The operator’s site says tickets must be bought at the ticket office (notice dated March 2026). Queue there rather than counting on paying the driver. Hand your large bag to the driver and keep a day bag with you.
- Ride. 6002 runs through Hongdae and Gwanghwamun along Jongno; 6011 runs through Gyeongbokgung to Anguk and along Yulgok-ro. Allow 70–90 minutes, more at rush hour. The bus shows the next stop in Korean and English.
- Get off at the stop that suits your hotel. 6002 stops at Jongno 1-ga, then Jongno 2-ga and Jongno 3-ga; 6011 stops at Anguk and then Changdeokgung. Step 4 below says which is nearest to which hotel.
Not route 6005. The operator lists 6005 as its “Insadong” route, but toward the city it ends at Seoul City Hall. Only the airport-bound run starts in Insadong (Avantree Hotel stop), so it is a way back to the airport, not a way in.
B · AREX Express, then Line 1
- Buy a T-money card at the airport — at the convenience store in arrivals (GS25 or CU), with cash. You only need it for Line 1: the Express is a separate ticket and is not paid with T-money. Load at least ₩1,550, the Line 1 fare; ₩2,000 is a safe round figure.
- Go down to the AREX station at the basement level of your terminal and buy an Express ticket at the machine or counter. Booked online it costs about ₩11,400; a reserved seat is printed on the ticket.
- Ride non-stop to Seoul Station — about 43 minutes. Racks sit at the ends of each carriage; you lift your own bags.
- Change to Line 1 at Seoul Station, following the signs to Line 1 toward Cheongnyangni / Soyosan. The change takes about 10 minutes with bags. Tap in with a T-money card.
- Ride three stops — Seoul City Hall, Jonggak, then Jongno 3-ga — and tap out. Come up on the north side of Jongno; the hotels are 2–9 minutes away on foot.

C · All-stop train, then Line 1
- Buy a T-money card at the airport and load at least ₩6,000. The convenience store in arrivals sells and tops up cards, with cash. The Climate Card does not work on this line.
- Go down to the AREX station and tap through the gate. Take the all-stop train (the commuter service), not the Express. It calls at 12 stations, including Hongik University (Hongdae). The first train is about 05:25 from T1 or 05:18 from T2; the last about 23:39 from T1 or 23:32 from T2.
- Ride to Seoul Station (59–66 minutes) and tap out. Cars can be crowded in rush hour and have no luggage racks.
- Change to Line 1, tap in, ride three stops to Jongno 3-ga and tap out. With T-money the change counts as one journey, so you pay no second base fare: Line 1 adds only about ₩100, for ₩4,850 in all from Terminal 1 or ₩5,450 from Terminal 2. Or change earlier, at Gongdeok, to Line 5 and ride five stops to Jongno 3-ga: you come up at the Line 5 exits, right beside Moxy and Best Western.
D · Taxi or private vehicle
- Taxi: use the rank outside arrivals, or book through the Kakao T app. Regular taxis are metered; international taxis are set up for foreign-language help. You pay the airport-expressway tolls on top of the meter.
- Private vehicle: book before you fly, with your flight number. The driver waits in arrivals with your name and the fare is fixed. Check the operator’s waiting-time policy if your flight is often late.
- Show the hotel name in Korean. Do not rely on the English name: tap your hotel below so it stands out, then show the screen, or paste the Korean name into Kakao T. Insadong-gil is closed to cars at weekends, so the driver may stop at the end of the lane.

Check on the day. Jongno’s bus stops sit on islands in the middle of the road, and a bus can skip a stop. When the bus’s display shows your stop’s name in English, get off; if in doubt, show the driver the Korean name of the stop — 종로3가 (Jongno 3-ga), 종로2가 (Jongno 2-ga) or 창덕궁 (Changdeokgung).
After midnight: the N6002 night bus toward Insadong
The last AREX trains leave about 23:30–23:40 and the daytime limousine buses stop about 23:00. After that you have one cheap choice and one fallback. N6002 stops at Jongno 3-ga, a few minutes’ walk from the hotels.
First choice
N6002 · Cheongnyangni
₩17,000
- Route: Terminal 1 → Hongdae (45 min) → Gwanghwamun (60 min) → Jongno 3-ga → Heunginjimun / Dongdaemun (75 min) → Cheongnyangni (90 min).
- Departs T1: about 00:00 · 00:30 · 01:00 · 01:40 · 04:00 · 04:40. Terminal 2 is about 20 minutes earlier.
- Boarding: stop 6A at Terminal 1. Ask at the information desk for the Terminal 2 stop.
- Get off at Jongno 3-ga (종로3가), the same stop as the daytime 6002: 350–650 m from the hotels, 5–9 minutes on foot.
Only if N6002 is full
N6701 · Dongdaemun Design Plaza
₩18,000
- Route: Terminal 1 (stop 3B) → Mapo Station (50 min) → Seoul Station (60 min) → Euljiro 1-ga / Lotte Hotel (65 min) → Dongdaemun Design Plaza (70 min). Terminal 2 boards at stop 18.
- Departs T1: from about 23:50 to 04:40; roughly one an hour.
- Not an Insadong bus: it never enters Jongno. Euljiro 1-ga is about 1 km south-west of the hotels.
Treat N6701 as the bus you take when N6002 has no seats, and for no other reason. Night buses carry seated passengers only, so a full N6002 leaves you on the kerb until the next one, and the gap between 01:40 and 04:00 is long. N6701 is the other night bus that gets you into central Seoul. It costs ₩1,000 more and drops you about a kilometre from the hotels.
If you take it, get off at Euljiro 1-ga (Lotte Hotel), then ride a short taxi; the meter starts at about ₩4,800. On foot it is 15–21 minutes north-east across Cheonggyecheon. Do not ride on to Dongdaemun.
If both are full, or you would rather not wait, a taxi runs all night at ₩90,000 or more.
If you come in late on AREX and Line 1 has already stopped, take night bus N15 from the Seoul Station Bus Transfer Center, heading for Ui-dong (우이동). Get off at Jongno 3-ga Stn · Tapgol Park (종로3가역.탑골공원), six stops on, by way of Namdaemun and Jongno 2-ga. From there the hotels are the same short walk as from the 6002 stop.
N15 is one of Seoul’s night (“Owl”) buses: about ₩2,500 by T-money, every 20–30 minutes or so. It leaves its terminals from about 23:30 and the last ones leave at about 03:30–03:40, so the first buses pass Seoul Station after midnight. Check the next bus in Kakao Map or Naver Map before you leave the station.
Gimpo Airport to Insadong
Gimpo handles Jeju and domestic flights, and short international flights, mostly from Japan, China and Taiwan. It is closer to Insadong than Incheon, and the best way in is the simplest one on this page: one subway line, no change. Choose “From Gimpo” on the map above to see it.

- Leave by Exit 4 or 5 (Line 5) on the Nakwon-dong side; Exit 4 comes up between Moxy and Best Western. Walk: Moxy and Best Western about 1 minute, Orakai about 4, ibis about 5, Dormy Inn about 6.

Incheon Airport to Insadong: FAQ
How do I get from Incheon Airport to Insadong?
The simplest way is the airport limousine bus 6002 (stops at Jongno 2-ga and Jongno 3-ga) or 6011 (stops at Anguk and Changdeokgung): no transfer, about 70–90 minutes, ₩17,000. The fastest is the AREX Express to Seoul Station (about 43 minutes, ₩13,000), then Line 1 three stops to Jongno 3-ga. The cheapest is the AREX all-stop train and the same Line 1 ride, about ₩4,850–5,450 in total with the transfer discount. A taxi starts around ₩65,000.
Which airport bus goes to Insadong?
Take 6002 and get off at Jongno 2-ga or Jongno 3-ga, on the southern edge of Insadong, or 6011 and get off at Anguk or Changdeokgung, on the northern edge. Route 6005 is listed by the operator as its “Insadong” route, but toward the city it ends at Seoul City Hall; only its airport-bound run starts in Insadong.
What is the cheapest way from Incheon Airport to the hotels in Insadong?
The AREX all-stop train to Seoul Station, then Line 1 three stops to Jongno 3-ga. With a T-money card the change at Seoul Station counts as one journey under the integrated fare, so Line 1 adds only about ₩100: ₩4,850 from Terminal 1 or ₩5,450 from Terminal 2, and 85–100 minutes. You need a T-money card, or a Tmoney Travel Card Plus. The Seoul Climate Card is not valid on the airport railroad.
What if I land after midnight?
The last AREX trains leave around 23:30–23:40 and the daytime limousine buses stop around 23:00. After that, the night bus N6002 leaves Terminal 1 at about 00:00, 00:30, 01:00, 01:40, 04:00 and 04:40 (Terminal 2 about 20 minutes earlier) and costs ₩17,000. It stops at Jongno 3-ga, 350–650 m from the five hotels. If you took a late train and reach Seoul Station after the last Line 1 train, night bus N15 runs from the Seoul Station Bus Transfer Center to Jongno 3-ga Stn · Tapgol Park for about ₩2,500. A taxi from the airport runs all night but costs ₩90,000 or more at night.
How do I get from Seoul Station to Insadong after the subway stops?
Take night bus N15 from the Seoul Station Bus Transfer Center toward Ui-dong and get off at Jongno 3-ga Stn · Tapgol Park (종로3가역.탑골공원), six stops on. It is one of Seoul’s Owl night buses: about ₩2,500 by T-money, every 20–30 minutes, with the first buses passing Seoul Station after midnight and the last leaving its terminals at about 03:30–03:40. A taxi from Seoul Station to Insadong takes about 10 minutes.
Is the N6701 night bus an alternative to N6002?
Only as a last resort. N6701 does not enter Jongno: it ends at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and its nearest stop is at Euljiro 1-ga (Lotte Hotel), about 1 km south-west of the hotels. Take it only if N6002 is full, then ride a short taxi from Euljiro 1-ga.
Which T-money card do I need for the all-stop train?
A T-money card or a Tmoney Travel Card Plus, loaded with enough balance for the AREX fare and the subway. Buy a T-money card at a convenience store or station machine and top it up with cash; the Tmoney Travel Card Plus tops up in its app. The short-term Seoul Climate Card does not work on the Incheon airport rail line.
How do I get from Gimpo Airport to Insadong?
Take subway Line 5 from Gimpo Airport Station straight to Jongno 3-ga with no change — about 50 minutes for roughly ₩2,000. Exits 4 and 5 (Line 5) come up in Nakwon-dong, 1–7 minutes on foot from the five hotels. A taxi is about 30–50 minutes and roughly ₩20,000–30,000 depending on traffic.
Which bus stop is nearest each hotel?
Dormy Inn Express: bus 6002 at Jongno 2-ga, about 390 m. Orakai Insadong Suites: 6002 at Jongno 2-ga or 3-ga, about 520–530 m. Moxy and Best Western: 6002 at Jongno 3-ga, about 350 m and 370 m. ibis Ambassador: 6011 at Changdeokgung, about 500 m. By subway, Jongno 3-ga Station is 30–430 m from all five.
How much is a taxi from Incheon Airport to Insadong?
Plan on ₩65,000 as the starting point for the metered fare to Seoul, and more for Insadong, which is toward the far end of the city, plus the airport-expressway tolls and a late-night surcharge; we budget about ₩75,000–95,000. A pre-booked private vehicle is a fixed fare from about ₩90,000 for up to seven passengers.
Is there a direct train from Incheon Airport to Insadong?
No. The AREX airport railroad ends at Seoul Station, where you change to subway Line 1 and ride three stops to Jongno 3-ga, the station nearest the hotels in Insadong and Ikseon-dong. From Gimpo Airport, subway Line 5 does run directly to Jongno 3-ga.
Which is faster to Insadong, AREX or the airport bus?
AREX Express plus Line 1 is usually faster: about 43–51 minutes to Seoul Station, a 10-minute change and three stops to Jongno 3-ga. The airport bus takes 70–90 minutes in traffic but needs no transfer, and the driver loads your luggage, so it is easier with large bags or children.
